Accessibility Statement

Effective date: October 2026

Hunter Behavioral Solutions works with organizations serving people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. A website that is difficult to use would contradict everything this practice stands for. Accessibility here is a design requirement, not an add on.

Our standard

This website is designed to conform with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. Conformance is an ongoing commitment rather than a one time certification, and we treat any reported barrier as a defect to be fixed.

What is built into this site

  • Keyboard access. Every interactive element, including the navigation, the frequently asked questions, and the readiness snapshot, can be reached and operated with a keyboard alone.
  • Visible focus. A high contrast focus indicator marks the element currently selected, so keyboard users always know where they are.
  • Skip navigation. A skip to main content link is the first item reachable by keyboard.
  • Semantic structure. Landmarks, a single page heading, and a logical heading order allow screen reader users to navigate by structure.
  • Labeled controls. The readiness snapshot uses grouped radio controls with accessible group labels, and its result is announced through a live region.
  • Text alternatives. Images and illustrations carry text alternatives or are marked as decorative where they add no information.
  • Color and contrast. Text and interface colors are selected to meet the contrast ratios required at Level AA. Color is never the only way information is conveyed.
  • Reduced motion. Animation is disabled automatically for visitors whose device requests reduced motion.
  • Responsive and resizable. The site reflows on small screens and remains usable when text is enlarged up to 200 percent.
  • No time limits. Nothing on this site expires, auto advances, or requires a response within a time limit.

Known limitations

Fonts are served by Google Fonts. If that service is unavailable, the site falls back to system fonts, which changes appearance but not function or readability. Documents linked from this site, such as PDFs, may not yet meet the same standard. If you need any document in an accessible format, ask and we will provide one.

If something does not work

If any part of this website is difficult or impossible to use, tell us and we will fix it. Please include the page, what you were trying to do, and the browser or assistive technology you were using, if you know it.

We aim to respond to accessibility reports and resolve confirmed barriers promptly.

Alternative ways to reach us

You never have to use this website to work with HBS. You can email us directly, and information available on this site can be provided by email, by phone, or in another format on request at no cost.

Assessment approach

This site was evaluated through a combination of manual keyboard testing, structural and semantic review, and contrast checking during development. We welcome feedback from people using assistive technology, since lived experience surfaces issues that testing does not.
